Don't Call me Ishmael

Don't Call Me Ishmael are a band from the Midlands, UK. After originating as a solo project for frontman Gary Wilcox in late 2014, they crystallised as a band in Autumn 2015 and their music is a collision of perfect pop, edgy politics and heart-on-the-sleeve romanticism.

Featuring members of TASKRZ, The Graham Dawson Band and Wilcox:Hulse, the band released its debut album; 'Underdog Songs' in December 2015 and has been building an impressive reputation for their live performances since.

They released a single in April 2017 and album number two in May 2017.

Rookie- "A new, upcoming 4 piece band based in Birmingham comprising of strong guitar riffs and intense lyrics above everything else."

Raphaella Kornarskis- An energetic 4-piece pop band from the Black Country. We are influenced by the Clash, Grimes, Grace Jones and Belle & Sebastian.

Zawe- Zawe is a six piece band, based in Birmingham; their music is rooted in folk with an infusion of soul. Their songs are lyrically driven stories of experiences, letters to loved ones and questions to whoever is listening. Their inspirations vary from the likes of Otis Redding, Joan Amatarding, Rachel Sermanni and Nathaniel Rateliff.

In September 2017 Philippa Zawe released her debut EP Road of Hope; a tale of loss, grief and hope found along the way. The band formed shortly after the release of Philippa Zawe’s first EP, providing a fuller sound to her music. In Spring 2018 they are set to release their first EP together.
