DCMI Spring 2019 Tour Details Insta.jpg

We’re going on tour!

From February to May we’ll be heading up and down the M6 to get our new music into your ears. The Saint Ishmael tour will take in some of our favourite haunts and also new venues and cities. You can view all the dates on our shows page. We hope to see as many of you as possible out on the road.

Some shows are ticketed, some are free, we’ll be releasing the specifics for each show over the coming days. There will be Facebook Event pages on the DCMI Facebook page.

Our third album ‘Saint Ishmael’ will be released on vinyl and streaming services on Friday 22 February 2019. You can pre-order it from our store and from DROMA’s Bandcamp. The album features the fiery single ‘Blood Is Thicker’.

What an amazing weekend! We played two incredible shows, headlining Friday night in Birmingham and then an opening slot at The Underground on Saturday night. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and came out on some very wet and cold nights.

The running project that Gary and JT have started was meant to have its first chapter completed on Sunday morning, but due to the rubbish weather the Stafford Half Marathon has been pushed back to April. However, we did manage to record some documentary interviews that will form the backbone of the film about running and being in a band.

We are back live on May 1 at The Glebe, Stoke and then Lymelight Festival a few days later. We're starting work on our next batch of songs, with a view to release a single in the next couple of months.

Coming to a harbour near you... by Jack Tasker

Spring 2018 is looking like a mighty season for all of us on the good ship Ishmael. We have four gigs in March and our annual practice / song writing session. So expect some new material in our set list.

We're covering some decent ground across the middle of the country during this string of dates. If you're in Birmingham then please come to our gig at The Victoria on Friday 16 March (tickets.) For Stoke / Stafford people there's plenty to pick from, why not come to all of them?

We're very excited to get back out there. See you on the road...or seas...the metaphors get a little mixed.

A Sleeping Whale Wakes by Jack Tasker

Ishmael is slumbering at the moment, getting ready to surface in the coming months. We've started recording new ideas, talking about our annual Christmas EP and some creative ideas for music making in 2018.

The only bad part of being in a band comprised of people who are all in about five other bands means there are periods when we all have to go off and work on our other projects. More often then not with each other. We thought we'd let you know what everyone is up to.

Gary is working hard on his folk roots project, Wilcox:Hulse, with long term collaborator Phil Hulse, they put out a single today from their new album, listen to it on DROMA's Bandcamp pageRob has released the third TMC single this year, prolific work from the indie pop masters, make sure you listen to 'End of the World.' Matt has been appearing across a lot of releases, but his stunning work on the Wilcox:Hulse album deserves a special mention, get All Change now, you won't regret it. Sophie has, like Matt, been playing on everything but a real shout out should be directed at her stunning work on TASKRZ's latest releases that dropped in early August, download both of them pronto. Last but not least, Jack has been the shadowy figure behind all of these projects, he recently did a long form interview with E MAJOR blog, where he went to great lengths to explain all the different musical projects he's got his finger in.

We'll be back on the road in December when we appear at The Glebe in Stoke, then a month later at The Swan Inn in Stone. You'll hear from that prior to that as the whale wakes.
